Chiropractic Care after Failed Back Surgery

First off I want to say what a blessing it has been for Dr. Patrick Baker to come into my life!

I had major (failed) back surgery July 1, 2019 (2 fusions and one disk replacement). I was told I needed the surgery or I could end up paralyzed. This scared me as I was only 69 at the time and didn’t want to spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair, so I had the surgery. I thought I was in a lot of pain before the surgery but it was nothing compared to the pain after surgery. I was put on opiods, muscle relaxers and medication for nerve pain.

There was no improvement of the pain or the ability to walk, so the doctor kept increasing the dosage of the medication. I went thru physical therapy twice. I hadn’t been able to do anything but sit for 15 months. Walking, even with a walker, was so painful and taking shower was the worst. My husband had to take over everything around the house. After several months of no relief I was scheduled for a steroid shot which gave me relief for about 3 months.

During the next 15 months I had 6 steriod injections. I had such pain in my left leg that I would just sit and cry. Couldn’t find anything to relieve the pain. I hadn’t felt my feet since the surgery.

My daughter said that I need to go see Dr. Baker. She was a patient of his, along with her entire family and spoke very highly of him.
I went to see the surgeon one more time and he wanted to do surgery again….NO WAY! That’s when I called and made an appointment to see Dr. Baker. After just two weeks of visits which included ultrasound, roller bed and an adjustment I had the feeling back in my feet and less pain and was walking up straighter. I have been seeing Dr. Baker since September 2020 starting with 3 times a week, then 2 times a week. I am now down to once a week and the change is almost unbelievable.

I have now taken over the house and cooking duties and even get out and go shopping occasionally. Looking forward to spring to finally get out of the house and do a little fishing and work in my flower beds. It feels so good to finally start to feel like my old self again. I know I still have a little ways to go but with Dr. Baker and his caring staff I am on the right road to a full recovery.
