I Was Taught Why I Was Having Shoulder Pain and Knee Pain

I am a very physically active person. In fact, I am a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I work-out 6 to 7 days per week. I was experiencing left shoulder pain and left knee pain. I was also getting really congested, had problems breathing and experiencing pain in my lower back. All these problems had been going on for 2-3 years.

Due to the pain, I cut back on my work-out routine. I was limited to what I could do. I wasn’t doing much jumping and started doing lighter lifts. I also started adding bands to my work-outs for mobility. I didn’t feel like I could give 100%. I cut back on playing pick-up basketball which I love to do. I felt worn down and didn’t have much energy because I couldn’t give 100%. I was a little depressed because physical activity plays such a big role in my life.

My medical doctor prescribed me an inhaler for my congestion and breathing problems. He also prescribed naproxen for my knee and shoulder pain claiming that it was just inflammation. In addition, he wanted me to starting seeing a physical therapist.

I started getting care from Baker Chiropractic and Wellness around the end of October or beginning of November. I didn’t know much about chiropractic care before I started here and I was definitely skeptical. I had heard so many rumors that it was just a doctor cracking your back to get money and that it really didn’t work. My mother didn’t want me to be seen by a chiropractor. She wanted me to physical therapy at first.

Ever since I have been receiving chiropractic care, I feel a lot healthier in general. I am back to lifting and working out 100%. I even tell my friends and family members that chiropractic care is one of the best things for my health that I have invested into. I feel like I have more energy and that I’m in the best shape I have ever been in.

Without chiropractic care, I would probably be seeing a physical therapist and taking inflammation medication. I have nothing against physical therapy but physical therapy can only do so much in strengthening muscles around my joints. I would have continued to train as I do every day and that would have lead to me getting some type of surgery in the future.

I would and do recommend others with similar health problems to get checked out by Baker Chiropractic and Wellness. Like I said, I have never experienced care from anywhere like the care I receive here. They sat me down and opened my eyes by teaching me what was going on with my body and why I was having the pain.

The new patient orientation at Baker Chiropractic and Wellness is so eye opening and such a great learning experience. It has inspired me to become a chiropractor someday and help others avoid needless medications and surgery.*
