Arm Pain

Arm pain is a symptom of numerous conditions. Arm pain could be the result of a muscle sprain, a broken bone, a pinched nerve, tendonitis or angina, just to name a few. Whatever the cause, arm pain can be uncomfortable and debilitating. Our thorough examinations will correctly diagnose the source of your pain. Once we know what the problem is, Baker Chiropractic will treat it.

Elbow Pain

Elbow pain is a by-product of a wide variety of injuries. Your elbow is a very complex joint that allows you to move your arm in nearly all directions. It is also an area of your arm where many bones, tendons, ligaments, nerves and veins interact. Three long bones meet at the elbow. Major muscle groups originate or terminate at the elbow including your biceps and triceps. Tendons and ligaments are attached to the elbow and nerves and veins travel through the elbow. Common elbow problems include the following:

Tennis Elbow:

Pain on the outside of the elbow.

Golfers Elbow:

Pain on the inside of the elbow.

Student Elbow:

Painful swelling on the back of the elbow.

Tendonitis:

Pain caused by inflammation of the tendons.

Arthritis:

Pain caused by inflammation of a joint.

Pinched Nerve:

The main nerve in the elbow is called the ulnar nerve. It’s located in the soft spot just above the elbow. If this nerve is pinched, it’s hard to get your arm to move the way you want it to and you will feel pain down the arm through the hand and into your fingers. There are many nerves that run through the elbow that can become pinched and lead to different types of pain throughout your entire arm and hand.

Leg Pain

Leg pain can affect your ability to walk as well as your balance or stability. Just like your arm, your legs contain major muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, nerves and veins that all can become injured or strained which leads to pain. Leg cramping is a very common and painful condition. Typical causes of leg cramps are dehydration, nutrition deficiencies and excessive use but many other things can cause leg cramping including prescription medications. Many people try to tolerate leg pain and live with it. However, there’s a reason for the pain or the cramps. At Baker Chiropractic will find the reason and treat it.

Sciatica

Sciatica describes the pain that usually originates in your lower back and extends through your buttocks and down the large sciatic nerve in the back of your legs all the way down to your feet. Sciatica is commonly mistaken as a condition when, in fact, it’s a symptom signaling a problem involving the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in your body, so there could be any number of reasons why you are feeling pain. Sciatica is not only characterized by pain but also numbness, tingling and weakness. All which greatly impact your ability to sit, stand, walk and function. Sciatica is most common in adults between the ages of 30 and 50 and is a condition that typically develops over a period of time as opposed to being attributed to a single event like an accident. If you are experiencing the effects of sciatica, we may be able to help.
