Colds & Flu Relief and Prevention
Learn about common cold and flu symptoms, everyday wellness habits and ways to support your health throughout the year.
Stay Informed. Support Your Wellness.
Understanding common cold and flu symptoms can help you make informed decisions about your health and when to seek professional care.
It's important to support your body's overall health and wellness. However, there may be times when viruses affect your respiratory system and cause symptoms associated with colds and flu.
Viruses that result in the common cold infect the cells of the nose, sinuses, throat and airways. The flu is caused by influenza viruses and can sometimes lead to more severe illness than a common cold.
Colds and flu share some symptoms, but they are not the same illness. Cold symptoms often develop gradually, while flu symptoms can begin suddenly and may feel more intense.
If you are currently experiencing cold or flu symptoms, focus on appropriate self-care and consult a healthcare professional when symptoms are severe, persistent or concerning.
At Baker Chiropractic and Wellness, we have been helping people of all ages with their health and wellness goals for over 20 years. Contact our office to learn more about our services and approach.
Common Cold Symptoms
Cold symptoms usually start with a sore throat or a runny nose. Nasal congestion follows, along with a cough. Occasionally, you may run a fever with a cold. Many times, cold symptoms can be confused with allergic reactions.
If symptoms develop quickly and then begin to subside in about a week, it may be a cold. If symptoms do not go away, they may need further medical evaluation.

Flu Symptoms
Flu symptoms include a sore throat, headache, muscle aches, congestion, soreness, fever and cough. Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea may also occur, particularly in children.
Unlike a common cold, flu symptoms often appear suddenly and can be more intense. All these symptoms may lead to extreme exhaustion, fatigue and weakness.

Our Approach to Treating Colds and Flu
Chiropractic health care focuses on the health of the body's central nervous system. Doctors of chiropractic are trained to evaluate the spine and nervous system and provide chiropractic care when appropriate.
At Baker Chiropractic and Wellness, we believe in helping patients understand their health and wellness choices. Our team takes time to discuss individual concerns and explain available services.
Chiropractic care should not be considered a cure or a prevention method for viral infections such as the common cold or influenza. It does not replace medical evaluation, vaccination, antiviral treatment or other recommended care.
We take time to listen to your health and wellness concerns.
We encourage informed decisions about your overall health.
Our team discusses services based on your individual needs.
