Causes of a Kidney Infection and What Increases Your Risk

A kidney infection is typically caused by a decreased flow of urine through the urinary tract. The decrease in urine flow is commonly the result of an overgrowth of bacteria in the urinary tract that impedes the normal flow and creates an environment that allows infection to set in.

There are certain factors that increase your risk for a kidney infection. These include the following:

  1. Gender – Women are more prone to kidney infections than men.
  2. Weakened Immune System – If your body’s immune system is not operating at 100%, you increase your risk of a kidney infection.
  3. Nerve Impairment – Nerves that are pinched or damaged may prevent your bladder, urinary tract and/or kidneys from working properly which can lead to a kidney infection.
  4. Obstruction – Anything that reduces the normal flow of urine through the urinary tract and bladder such as kidney a stone increases the risk of a kidney infection.

Our Approach To Kidney Infections

Our chiropractic care focuses on the health of the central nervous system. Doctors of chiropractic are specifically educated and trained to identify and treat problems with the nerves of the human body. When your central nervous system is healthy, all systems of the body are working properly.
A condition called a subluxation can impair or damage nerves that control your kidneys, urinary tract and bladder. We are able to precisely identify and remove a subluxation or series of subluxations which restores the health of your nerves and the normal function of your kidneys, urinary tract and bladder.
A subluxation-free and optimized nervous system also optimizes the health and effectiveness of your body’s powerful immune system. A maximized immune system helps prevent and fight all types of infections.
In addition to the above, we provide patients with essential guidance on nutrition which is another important part of addressing a kidney infection.
The best feature about our chiropractic care is that it does not use antiobiotics, over-the-counter medications or expensive prescription drugs. It is safe and most of all, effective.
