Study Shows You Won’t Reach a Health Plateau with Long-Term Chiropractic

No health plateau with long term chiropractic careHere is one of the largest chiropractic studies ever conducted. The study included 2,818 subjects in 156 clinics and 3 different countries. The study followed the population over a one-year period and 76% of the patients reported improved combined wellness changes in all categories assessed. The longer the individuals were under care, the greater the level of improvement and after 3 years of care there was no limit or ceiling to the benefits that the subjects experienced.

The results from this study show that patients under long-term chiropractic care not only receive the benefits they wanted, but experience health benefits that they didn’t think they would. At Baker Chiropractic and Wellness we aren’t treating your symptoms (pain, headaches, digestive problems, etc), we are restoring the proper alignment of your spine thereby allowing your body function and heal as it was intended. Not only does this result in a resolution of your symptoms, but most importantly your body is able to properly adapt to the stress it is put under on a daily basis.

It is extremely important to understand that the structure of your spine dictates the function of your body. Chiropractors restore that proper structure and this allows your body to function at its best. Help us change the way healthcare is viewed in our community and share this awesome research with everyone you know!

Use Chiropractic Care Regularly Over Time

A 1997 study published in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research called “Retrospective Assessment of Network Care Using a Survey of Self-Related Health, Wellness and Quality of Life”.

This is the largest study of its kind ever undertaken regarding a chiropractic population. There were many important findings in this study but none bigger than the fact that there was never a “plateau” of results achieved by the patients under long-term chiropractic care.

Health is a continuum and it’s important for prospective and current chiropractic patients to understand that chiropractic care is best used regularly over a lifetime to continually increase cell organization and coordination by optimizing nervous system function. The results of the study were as follows:

  • The study included 2,818 subjects in 156 clinics and 3 different countries
  • The completed longitudinal study followed the population in care over a one year period.
  • It was found that patients continue in care long after symptoms reduce or disappear.
  • According to the study, patients under chiropractic care made healthier choices in their life and enjoyed life more.
  • Seventy-six percent of the patients studied report improved combined wellness changes in all categories assessed
  • The longer the individuals were in care, the greater the level of improvement.
  • After over 3 years of care, no limit or ceiling was found to the benefits
  • Individuals who had experienced significant life stress (change in job, loss of loved one, divorce, etc..)” and trauma were more likely to report perceived improvements in wellness than those with less stress or trauma.
  • A strong connection was found between persons receiving chiropractic care and self-reported improvement in health, wellness and quality-of-life.
  • 95% of respondents reported that their expectations had been met, and 99% wished to continue care.

The results delivered through chiropractic are the main reason for the profession’s continued advancement into mainstream healthcare. This study helped prove the value of Chiropractic from a patient’s perspective. According to this research, there were no plateaus achieved by patients under long-term chiropractic care. The facts, stats, and figures reported in this study validate the long-term value of Chiropractic for all ages.

More research needs to be done regarding the quality of life that regular chiropractic care delivers, however, this study lays the groundwork for why Chiropractic is not just about treating symptoms.
