Chronic Intercostal Neuralgia Health Condition
Intercostal neuralgia is a health condition that causes pain with the intercostal nerves. These nerves are located between your ribs. Margaret came to us with pain in her upper ribs that would travel across her chest. She went to other doctors looking for answers but didn’t find them. A friend told her about Dr. Patrick Baker and she came to us. Dr. Baker diagnosed her pain as chronic intercostal neuralgia. Now she is pain-free.
Here’s Margaret’s story:
“The last part of February 2011 I began to have pain in my left upper ribs. The pain would travel across my chest. I thought I was having a heart attack.
I went to my primary care doctor and she said it must be from my back and sent me to a pain management clinic. This was after three x-rays, a fully body scan and one shot for pain.
After the first injection, the pain worsened and I was sent for an MRI with contrast. The doctors told me if I was not better after the third injection then I should see another doctor. So, I called my husband’s doctor that did his back surgery. After another MRI, he said there was nothing wrong with my back.
After a few months of pain that was getting worse every day, a friend told me about coming to Dr. Patrick Baker. I called and was in the office in just days. When I told Dr. Baker the pain was in my ribs – not my back, he and his staff began treatment that now has me pain-free!
Thank you Dr. Baker and Staff.”*
