Side Effects from Medications To Treat My Urinary Incontinence Were Too Much. Thank Goodness for Chiropractic Care!

Urinary incontinenceI had been dealing with urinary incontinence and leakage for several years. I lead a very active lifestyle and this was really becoming a problem.

My gynecologist referred me to a urogynecologist who put me on medication and had me doing pelvic floor exercises. She wanted to try these methods before considering surgery to treat the problem.

The medication helped almost immediately, but the side effect was an extremely dry mouth. I felt dehydrated all the time.

I was on the medication for about 3 months when I began to see Dr. Patrick Baker for neck and back issues. After several adjustments I noticed my bladder was emptying differently. I did not see how this would relate to chiropractic adjustments, but decided to mention it to Dr. Baker.

I told him about the urinary incontinence issue and he was glad I did. He advised me chiropractic can cure urinary incontinence. Never in a million years would I have thought that! He told me absolutely not to have the surgery.

The excellent massage therapists at Baker Chiropractic and Wellness also gave me massages to help relax my bladder. The misalignments in my spine and pelvis had caused my bladder not to function properly.

After several weeks I decided to stop taking the medication; as I was feeling more and more dehydrated. I thought the urinary incontinence might worsen, but it did not. The adjustments and massages I am receiving at Baker Chiropractic are definitely helping with this issue. I feel I am about 95% healed. Who would have thought!

I have no intention of seeing the urogynecologist again!*
