Chiropractic Care Guided by Objective Findings
We begin by evaluating how you move, where function may be limited, and what your examination reveals. You'll receive a clear explanation of the findings and a personalized plan based on your needs and goals.
Care Based on What We Find, Not Guesswork
Many people with pain have tried many things without a clear plan. At Baker Chiropractic, we take a different path. Before we recommend anything, we take the time to understand how your body is moving and working.
We measure first. We explain what we found in plain language. We build a plan around your goals. Then we check your progress at set times, so you and your doctor can see what is changing.
We measure first
a clear starting point before any recommendations
You understand your plan
findings explained in simple words, with a written summary
We check progress
re-assessments at set times, compared with your starting point
Our Process
Personalized care starts with understanding you. We take a thoughtful, step-by-step approach to your care.
Measure
Consultation, examination and clinically appropriate testing help us understand your individual needs.

Your first visit starts with a conversation. We ask about your symptoms, health history, work, activity and goals. Then your doctor examines you. Depending on your needs, this may include:
- Orthopedic and neurological tests (reflexes, strength, sensation)
- Range of motion of the affected area
- Muscle strength, comparing both sides
- Posture, movement or walking checks
- X-rays or other imaging, only when your exam shows they are needed
Explain
We review your findings in simple language so you can understand your condition and care options.

After your exam, your doctor sits down with you and goes through the results. We explain:
- What we found, and what it may mean for you
- What the tests can and cannot tell us
- Your care options, including when care from another provider may be a better fit
You receive a written summary of your findings to take home, so you can review it and share it with your family or other doctors.
Plan
Get personal recommendations tailored to your needs, goals and individual circumstances.

Your plan is built around your findings and your goals. Each recommendation is linked to something we measured, so you know why it is part of your care. Your plan may include:
- Chiropractic adjustments or joint mobilisation
- Active rehab and strengthening exercises
- Soft tissue work
- Home exercises and daily-life advice
- Other in-office therapies, when your exam supports them
Your plan also shows how often we suggest visits and when your first re-assessment will be.
Reassess
Check your function and progress at set times and review your next steps as needed.

At set check-points, we repeat key measurements from your first visit. You can see your baseline and your re-assessment results side by side. Based on what has changed, we:
- Continue the plan if it is helping
- Adjust the plan if progress is slower than expected
- Refer you to another provider if needed
- Move you to a simple self-care or maintenance plan when you reach your goals
Clear communication. Personalized recommendations. Thoughtful follow-up.

What We Measure and Why It Matters
Range of Motion
Range of motion shows how far a joint or area of your spine can move. We record it at your first visit and compare it at your re-assessments. This helps us see whether your movement is improving.
Strength
Strength testing shows how strong key muscles are and whether one side is weaker than the other. Weak or uneven muscles can affect how you move and how well you recover.
Movement and Posture
We look at how you stand, bend, walk and move. This helps us understand how your body handles daily tasks.
Thermal Scan (Tytron)
A thermal scan shows temperature patterns along the spine. We use it as one extra piece of information, read together with your history and exam. It does not diagnose a condition on its own.
Do I Need an X-Ray?
Not always. X-rays can be helpful, but they are not needed for everyone.
We may recommend X-rays when:
- ✓ You have had a fall, accident or injury
- ✓ Your exam shows signs that need a closer look
- ✓ Your symptoms are not improving as expected
- ✓ The results are likely to change your care plan
X-rays are usually not needed when:
- ✓ Your symptoms are mild and recent, with no warning signs
- ✓ Your exam does not show a clear reason for imaging
If you already have X-rays or an MRI, please bring them to your first visit.
CLEAR, WRITTEN FINDINGS
Your Findings, In Writing
After your assessment, you receive a simple written summary. It shows your key findings, your care plan and your next re-assessment date.
Measurements Help, but They Have Limits
Measurements give us useful information, but no single test tells the whole story.
An X-ray shows bones and joints. It does not show how much pain you feel.
Many people have changes on an X-ray and no pain at all.
Range-of-motion and strength numbers show function. They do not measure pain directly.
A change in a scan is not proof that pain is cured.
That's why we always read results together with your history, your exam and how you feel day to day.
When Another Doctor May Be Right for You
Chiropractic care is not right for every condition. If your symptoms or exam suggest a need for medical care, we will tell you honestly and refer you to the right doctor or specialist. We are also happy to work alongside your medical doctor, physical therapist or specialist.
Seek urgent care
Get emergency medical care right away for:
- Loss of bladder or bowel control
- Numbness in the groin or inner thighs
- Sudden or worsening weakness
- A sudden severe headache
- Chest pain
- Trouble speaking, seeing or walking

New Patient Questions
01 What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit begins with a discussion about your health history, symptoms, concerns, and wellness goals. Our team will review your information, perform an appropriate examination, and explain the findings and recommended next steps. We want you to feel comfortable, informed, and involved in your care.
02 What is included in the Spine, Movement & Function Assessment?
The assessment may include a review of your health history, posture, spinal mobility, joint movement, range of motion, muscle function, and relevant orthopedic or neurological tests. The exact evaluation depends on your symptoms and individual needs. Any additional testing will be discussed with you.
03 How much does the assessment cost? Does insurance cover it?
The cost depends on the services required and your insurance benefits. Baker Chiropractic accepts most insurance plans and can help verify your coverage before your appointment. Please contact our team to confirm assessment fees, deductibles, copayments, and any out-of-pocket expenses.
04 Do I always need an X-ray?
No. X-rays are not necessary for every patient. Your chiropractor will determine whether imaging is clinically appropriate based on your symptoms, medical history, and examination findings. If imaging is recommended, the reason will be explained before proceeding.
05 What will I get after the assessment?
After your assessment, your chiropractor will explain the findings, discuss factors that may be contributing to your symptoms, and outline appropriate care options. Depending on your needs, recommendations may include chiropractic care, movement exercises, home-care guidance, and lifestyle advice. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and understand the proposed next steps.
06 How do you check if I am getting better?
We monitor your progress by discussing changes in pain, mobility, daily activities, and your ability to perform movements that matter to you. Follow-up examinations and appropriate functional assessments may help us evaluate your response to care. Your treatment plan can be adjusted based on your progress and goals.
07 When will you refer me to a medical doctor?
If your symptoms suggest a condition that requires medical evaluation, diagnostic testing, or treatment outside our scope of practice, we may recommend referral to an appropriate medical professional. Urgent or potentially serious symptoms may require immediate medical attention. Your safety and appropriate care remain our priority.
08 Which conditions do you mainly treat?
Baker Chiropractic offers care for a range of musculoskeletal concerns and other conditions evaluated on an individual basis. Common concerns include:

- Sciatica and radiating pain
- Herniated or slipped discs
- Shoulder, hip, and joint discomfort
