Transient Ischemic Attack TIA

Cincinnati Area Transient Ischemic Attack TIA Relief

Transient Ischemic Attack or TIA is often referred to as a mini-stroke. It is a temporary episode of neurologic dysfunction which means something abnormal occurs in the body’s nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves).

TIA is similar to a stroke in that it involves a loss of blood flow to the brain. Unlike a stroke, the symptoms of TIA subside usually within a few minutes or a few hours.

At Baker Chiropractic and Wellness, we have been helping patients suffering from transient ischemic attacks for over 20 years. We diagnose the underlying cause of TIA and restore normal blood flow using our safe and effective chiropractic care.

If you are experiencing transient ischemic attacks, please contact us by calling (513) 561-2273 or Schedule an Appointment here on our website at any one of our greater Cincinnati area clinic locations.

What is a TIA and What Causes a TIA

A transient ischemic attack occurs as the result of an ischemia. An ischemia is a loss of blood flow or a restriction in the supply of blood to tissues of the body.

A reduction in the blood supply to the brain can trigger transient ischemic attacks and lead to the symptoms described below.

Transient Ischemic Attack TIA Symptoms

Symptoms of TIA can vary widely from person to person. The most common symptoms of a transient ischemic attack include:

  1. Impaired vision or loss of vision
  2. Slurred speech
  3. Weakness (usually on one side of the body)
  4. Numbness or tingling (usually on one side of the body
  5. Dizziness
  6. Loss of balance
  7. Loss of concentration
  8. Confusion
  9. Temporary paralysis

Transient Ischemic Attacks and Strokes

Although TIA is often referred to as a mini-stroke, it is not a stroke. A TIA will not cause solid damage to the brain like a stroke. Transient ischemic attacks may be a warning sign for a stroke if left untreated. In fact, nearly 1 in 3 people who experience a TIA eventually suffer a stroke. If you experience a transient ischemic attack, it’s an opportunity to see a health care professional so a stroke can be avoided.

Our Approach To Treating TIA

Our chiropractic care focuses on the health and function of the body’s central nervous system. When the body’s central nervous system is optimized and 100% healthy, all systems within the body perform properly. When there are interferences (known as subluxations) in the central nervous system, the systems of the body are not able to function at peak levels which can lead to numerous health issues, including problems with blood flow and TIA.
Baker Chiropractic and Wellness has been helping patients with transient ischemic attacks for over 20 years. Our chiropractic care is proven, safe and effective. The best part of our chiropractic care is that it does not require the use of expensive prescription medications or surgery.
If you or someone you know suffers from transient ischemic attacks, please schedule an appointment at any one of our four greater Cincinnati area clinic locations by calling (513) 561-2273 or Schedule an Appointment any time day or night here on our website.
